  26. I feel every sympathy for the guy who started off this thread, I'm in the
  27. process of writing an installer script for a local ISP. Their main PoP
  28. uses SMTP, and their local PoP's use POP3. It's a nightmare for anyone
  29. setting up email etc on their Amiga who's using the internet for the first
  30. time. Especially when there are so many environment variables ect used by
  31. various programs. It is also assumed that you have some sort of UUCP hierarchy
  32. for email and news. Most programs that I've come into contact for example
  33. read UUlib:Config ! as well as look for environment variables.

  35. Thor is powerful has many features and goes a long way to including everything
  36. you need. Apart for collecting of SMTP mail, will this be implemented in future
  37. releases ?

  39. I've looked at VooDoo, and ineed it does look pretty. You still need a news-
  40. reader and you still need other mail programs to post and collect your mail.

  42. I haven't configured Thor as yet with this ISP and currently use AmiPOP
  43. to collect my mail. For posting mail I use SendMail, RMail and Graham Walters
  44. mailkick via SMTP. I wish someone would write a good SMTP mailer type program
  45. that was configurable via a good GUI or used tooltypes, I hate all these
  46. environment variables etc.
